It was one of two competing designs, meant to be fielded by demo folks to help new players. It had one DA weapon, one DA missile and One IA missile to help show folks what each weapon system could do.
the other was based off a spartan torso.
That design later lead to the Vizier which was a Khan support unit. Using all the missile packs off of the Mogul conversion you added a Ia to the top between the shoulder blades and replaced the beam weapons with DA pods. Thus you could field an entire Rach raiding force off of Khan variants.

I finally got my butt in gear and downloaded the pics off of my camera. Here you go:
From left to right they are:
Bare metal or test paints
Primed white
Primed black
Primed gray
Steel Griffins
some camo APCs and infantry
un-named merc unit (orange & white)
In the back:
The orange models in the Herc are one of my first paint jobs, they're Rach. I used to have 2 more sections of them, but I traded them to Kai a long time ago.
Then there's my silver & blue Steel Griffins, but I could never find a shade of blue that turned out like I wanted, so I gave up and switched to the bronze/gold scheme instead.
The back right corner are just a few odds and ends.
Oh yeah, and I bought about 6 models since I took this picture.

Wow...great seeing everyone else's collections! I suppose I'll have to add my own pictures next time my models are all in one place. Not quite so impressive a collection as any of these, but it should be respectable

New camera should be here today! I will try and get a good shot of all my stuff too.
I never did make a Herc and I really want to. We still have those plans floating around here somewhere?

The Herc in that picture is the original one that Neil made. He gave it to me several years ago. I made one myself too, we gave that one away at NukeCon the same year that Neil made his upgraded Herc.

No chance. I bought my wife a new kitchen table last fall so we moved the old one down to the basement. Its solid wood w/legs about 3" thick.
Its supposed to be for my son and I to use for boardgames and stuff, but so far its served as a pretty one-dimensional Lego sorting area. I got him to clean it off long enough for me to snap the pictures.
