And now... the moment you've all been waiting for...

Zip Files of Full-Size Maps - These are cut into 6 sections: NE, E, SE, SW, W and NW. About 4 Megs to DL. They don't look as nice since I saved them using only 16 colors, but they're only about 800k apiece now.

66% Map - This is the largest image that I could get to work well. If I go any larger the file size just gets too big. Even so, you'll be better off left clicking on the link and saving this to your hard drive before openning it.

Half Size Map - 3MB, takes a while even on high speed connections.

Small Map - provides a good overview.

1 hex = 1"

Straight up is North.

The structure in the NW corner is the R&D facility, the structure on the East wall is the mine.

Those small building icons are actually one large building, but BME only has those icons, so any buildings that are adjacent to each other, are all just part of the same building. All buildings are considered to be 2 stories high and provide Soft Cover.

All rock outcroppings provide Hull Down cover.

Water Depth is shown for all locations.

If you have any other questions about the map (not about your mission or rules) ask them here.

Mission Commanders, your details are en route.

Ok, it seems that the 100% sized map is too big for IE to even attempt to load up, so we need to figure out something else.

Do all of you have Flash installed on your computers? I could try something with that which will allow for the map to be zoomable if everyone can work with it.

Flash was a failure too, the image is just too large. I guess what we're going to have to do is use the 50% map for overviews and I'll have to cut the 100% map up into smaller sizes (maybe 4 quadrants) and you guys will use those to plot your movement and calculate ranges, etc.

Zip the file and allow for us to load it off the net, I should be able to get it better that way.

I have plotter access and Ghost does too, so both teams should be able to print something out on larger paper. We can make sure our respective commanders get the data they need.

Any way you can post a link to the full-size map, just for kicks?

The 66% map I think I can work with

@Ghost:

If your using a roll plotter that can handle D size plots

Open ACAD, and size it on an Oversize E plot if possible, it'll take a D size plot flip it on its end for a bigger, just set it to portrait, and manually rotate it.

Should be able to plot that way if your RAM got some heat.

The .gif won't even open up from from the hard drive, it seems like IE just realizes that its way to large to work with and doesn't even try to load it. It simply shows an empty image placeholder w/the correct width and height values.

Here's the photoshop file zipped up though, you can look at that.

Please note that the hex numbering starts at 0101 in the upper left corner, but due to the fact that we've only got 2 digits for each coordinate, when the Y set (the last two numbers) hits 99, they start over at 00 again.

So there are actually two hexes numbered 0101, 1412, etc, etc. We should probably refer to them as 0101N (for North) and 0101S (for South).

the large map is workable, just a pain to print; But its enough to know whats going on. the PSD format isn't doing nothing.

I got it opened fine, and its legable. the 66% map is fine as is. the real question being, can everyone access online.

I can't get it to open properly. It starts to open, when done loading it shrinks to fit the window.

sounds like you're using Firefox? if so just click on the map to make it full size.

A lot of browsers have a "feature" that will shrink an image to the window nad you have to click to un-shrink

Internet Explorer does this too as a standard feature in v6.

In the IE menu, select Tools -> Internet Options, then hit the Advanced Tab and under Multimedia, make sure that the 'Enable Automatic Image Resizing' box is unchecked.

I think I have found a problem with the map. In the verticle rows there are two sets of hex numbers up till the mid twenties.

You're going to have to be more specific, I'm not understanding what you're saying. Give me a specific hex number to look at if you can.

Never mind. I just saw your post above regarding north and south hexes.

At the very top of the first post, you'll now find a zip file containing full-size .gifs of all them maps.

There's a couple of places where the roads don't connect, this is simply an error on my part where I had to cut and paste the different sections to get them to fit into photoshop. Consider the roads to be connected.

I downloaded all your 100% maps, unsaturated them, lightened them up a bit, but increased the contrast, and then connected them all together to create one big map. It takes up a little over 75MB storage space.

Looks pretty good.
