Dial-up subscribers beware...more big pics.

I'm sorry for the poor resolution but I wanted to give you guys a chance to hack on my painting. LOL

If you can't tell they're base coated in Steel Plate and drybrushed with Mithril Steel. Some details are picked out with Firehawk Red. The canopies are just Dragon Blue. You can't really see it in the pics but the rotary cannons are based with Gunmetal and then drybrushed so they look different from the armored parts.

I like them.

You may want to brush the flock off of their toes though. (hawk6) The acid in the soil of typhonIV is known to make cavs rust.

Cool fort. Though it seems a group of Romulans, Klingons and Cardassians are sneaking up on it (also something blue that I can't quite identify).

That would be a Borg cube.

In that case your fort is screwed. Don't think even the two T-birds can handle that.

I was wrong. I went back and looked at it and it's a Minbari cruiser.

I like the fortress myself; pretty cool. I recognize the firehawk, but not the Spector. thats a pretty interesting unit, plus unless theres a change in rules or something, that Spector's primary guns are still AA capable. Dropships beware.....

The MOUT situation looks really cool, and I like the typhus 2 terrain. looks like the start of something. Cool.

The Spectre and the Sovereign have both been modified with the Imkw Large IFM rack and PAK-7 PBG's for arms. I don't know if the Spectre would be AA capable or not now.

I call the Firebird that because it's a baby Thunderbird. IFM rack and PBG's.

it does as far as I know, so does the Firebird. Unless its been changed in the BL forums, the AA ability is tied to the mount, not the weapon. I had that same question with the Samurai.

Firebird, oops sorry. I remember you were telling us about it before.

the only thing to watch for is the construction rules, you couldn't put a super heavy PBG on a heavy (though the secondary missile is classified as heavy so its cool)

buuuuuuuuuuut, you can rename the super heavy PBG, give it identical stats, and possibly reduce its point cost by shaving 3 DTs. if you haven't done this already, and you would like to have a CAV RC card for it, I'll show you how to come up with it.

The PAK-7 isn't a superheavy PBG is it?

OK, I see what you did, thats the Challenger's weapon. NIIIIIIIIICE.

Seeing that makes me like the Firebird even more. AA capable PAK 7 primaries.

I assume PAK 7s on the Spector too, if so, thats another one I may have to look at closer. me likes.

Yep..PAK-7's on the Spectre.

Not earth-shaking firepower but a site better than those crappy DFM's.

all depends on the situation really, but the PAK 7s are really worthwhile. The only reason I don't use them is because they belong to a unit produced for the RAM Coalition.

Anything Malvernian, Adonese or Ritterlich, my wife and I rarely use now. I'm strictly Terran, with some Hughes Marietta. I do maintain a Red Sentinal unit comprised of Koda Works gear. After our campaign is complete, this will be Romeo Spear of Lone Wolf Company. We also have some Templar units.

I can see something like the Firebird or that Spector filling a role in our ghost units. So hey, If we use this variant, at least you know its going to our Special Forces.

Aren't you wasting PAK7's on this, they're 5DT where the Specter is a 4DT CAV. Somehow it seems like something is wrong with this. (thinks; smoke pours out of ears) Ok, you pay points for an extra DT that you can't use, but you get a better degradation matrix (over 5 DT not 4DT) as the weapon continues to fucntion better than the overall CAV. Interesting. Has any one analyzed the points vs degradation on something like this?

Sorry...The Spectre has Rexus's with an Imkw Large IFM and a Sun Dragon T-21H breeder. Not the Pak-7's.
