Move Semi-Completed
Oct 02, 2002 FreeFall

Well folks, we have successfully transfered the site to our new/old server. We're back where we have full control with a better connection. You may notice that some of the forums have lost some posts, we apologize for that.

We will be experiencing periodic outages this weekend and part of next week as we install a brand spankin new Web server! This should incease our performance and stability. Special thanks to Grimgoth at Silver Griffin for taking such good care of us!

Currently our e-mail addresses are not working, but that should be fixed shortly too. The same outages that you see with the Web site may affect our e-mail as well. These are the prices we pay to get back to full functionality, and that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

Please bear with us a short while, it will be for the best.

NukeCon Update
Oct 05, 2002 Chrome

Well things have started off well for us. Al Pare got into town around 11am this morning and after Kai and FreeFall picked him up at the airport, we all went out for lunch and stopped by my game shop to pick up some extra terrain for my BFG tomorrow.

The first event of the weekend - my CAV demo - started at 6pm with 6 players. I showed up completely unorganized for the reletively simple scenario, but Kai saved my butt by letting me borrow his datacards.

At 8pm, FreeFall started Nur Dutchong, the Bloodsport, set on his frozen lake. The scenario was designed for 6 players and we actually had to turn a few players away who showed up late. Behold the importance of Pre-Registration!

The biggest event of the night though (at least for the 3 of us) was when Al gave us our special promos. AFAIK, I am the first person outside of Reaper to hold an Ogre mini. One that is sitting on my painting table right now, just screaming to be primed and painted in Steel Griffin colors. Eat your heart out Frank! ;-)

Al also brought along production versions of the Warlord, Knight, Tsuiseki and Lance, which will all be available from distributors in 2 weeks. He also brought us master copies of the Kikyu, Fenri, Poltergeist and Regent, which should be available in a few more weeks.

I haven't been able to put my Warlord and Knight together, but I saw them at GenCon and they're amazing! The Warlord is as big as the current Rhino is and the Knight isn't much smaller. The Tsuiseki looks sweet and the Kikyu and Fenri are impressive, if not a bit small, but then again, they are small craft in the game. The tanks are both good, but its the Regent that I really love! I've been waiting for that model for over a year now, and I'm not disappointed!

Last, but definately not least, I rushed home from work Thursday evening so that I could open up the UPS package that I knew was sitting at my house. What was in it you ask? Why nothing other than the one, the only... I mean literaly! It's the only one in existance! - 1/60th Scale Dictator! It is simply beautiful! Words do not - can not - do it justice! Unfortunately for you guys, I don't have any pictures of it yet, but rest assured that I will get some this weekend and that I will have them posted by Monday noon.

OK, that's all that I have time for now... I have to get my rest. Got a BFG tomorrow with 170 models and just under 60,000 points of CAVs, vehicles and infantry! WooHoo!

Impending release of the next group of minis
Oct 08, 2002 Kaimaster

Al Pare relayed to us at NukeCon that 4 CAVs are to be released to distributors within probably 3 weeks (hopefully to stores by the end of October):

  • Warlord
  • Knight
  • Lance
  • Tsuiseki

The Knight has an issue with the missile pack on its arm breaking off (hairline crack in the metal caused by the mold, Al found it when messing with my Knight I assembled there at NukeCon). Reaper has to fix that mold, and then they can go full throttle in getting them cast, packaged, and shipped to distributors.

The Warlord just looks beautiful, and we will *finally* have a tank and an aircraft to use in our combined arms game!

New CAVs Spotted
Oct 09, 2002 Chrome

I'm sure you all know what these are, so I'll just post the pics! ;-)

And finally we have a small picture of JB's Bigtator, the 1/60th scale Dictator. The model is small in this picture, but it gives an excellent sense of scale. Look for more pictures to be added tomorrow!
